CPCOFBJP partnered with Stichting India Light to host the second edition of ‘Chai Pe Charcha’ (Discussions over Tea) at Zaantheater in Zaandam on 8th of October 2017.
Stichting India Light organises India Day Holland every year for meaningful causes. 2017 was their 9th edition to support women empowerment. For more information click here.
OFBJP has partnered with Stitching India Light due to following reasons:

– Stitching India Light is a Hindustani Diaspora. OFBJP aspires to unite Indian Diaspora
– Stitching India Light celebrate India Day Holland which is a unique cultural event to promote Indian culture
– One of the most appealing things of Stitching India Light, it is a cause driven foundation. Funds collected from the event are used for charity. Some of the charity events of Stitching India Light were to help women empowerment, building toilets in India, giving clothes to needy etc.
– OFBJP promotes women empowerment and would like more and more women to come forward and participate in social, economic, trade, cultural, political issues.

Highlights of the Second Chai pe Charcha and India Day Holland. 

The key highlights of the Chai per Charcha are

  • OFBJP team felicitated Anne Kaizer from Gemeente Amstelveen under whose supervision and guidance, OFBJP initiated the Elderly program under honourable Amstelveen Mayor’s flagship program ‘Mensen Maken Amstelveen’  which means ‘People make Amstelveen’.
  • Dr. Sambit Patra, the national spokesperson of BJP and Dr. Vijay Chauthaiwale, the Global convener of OFBJP through their video messages highlighted the foreign policy and welfare & developmental schemes by Narendra Modi government in India.
  • Shri DVN Rao, the First Secretary, Ministry of External Affairs and Director of Gandhi centre, Netherlands felicitated OFBJP Netherlands’s Unity partners

    Mr. Vinod Sehdev from Netherlands India Association
    Mr Akshay Mahashabde from Marathi Mandal
    All the above unity partners are Heads of different Indian Diaspora organizations whose efforts have been effective in mobilizing the Indo-Dutch community, promoting Indo-Dutch friendship in various parts of the Netherlands. The dignitaries introduced their organizations whose social and cultural activities bring Indo-Dutch community together. They further complimented OFBJP’s efforts in helping Indian communities in every way possible. OFBJP’s Consortium partner, Mr. Vikas Chaturvedi Chairman of ASSOCHAM Netherlands, shared his thoughts through a video message on bilateral trade and knowledge exchange between India and The Netherlands.
  • ‘Heroes’ is a social initiative instituted by OFBJP to honor people who contributed to noble causes. OFBJP management team felicitated Mr. Raja Raman, Ms. Anjana Bhagole and Mr. Harish Solanki for being of great help to Indian community, for coming forward to demonstrate humility, support and brotherhood.
  • OFBJP also extended their warm welcome to the newly joined OFBJP volunteers.

The Chai pe Charcha event was hosted by the OFBJP management team members Vinayak Desai and Girish Kedar. The event ended with a get-together for all the guests.
